Tips for a Perfect Cruise Vacation!

Image
Cruising can be stressful for some people but for most its, a time to climb on board, unpack and let the cruise line do all the work. There is no better feeling than getting into your stateroom (after a nice lunch) and unpacking your suitcase, and enjoying a nice clean room ready for the week of adventure.     The thing I tell my friends most about why I like cruises is once you board and unpack you can just enjoy your vacation. While you are sleeping you are being transported from port to port like magic. The thought of driving around, using a GPS, and dealing with traffic is left back on land.  On a cruise, you can truly relax and enjoy a variety of different activities and different cultures through the many countries you will visit at each port. Here are some of my favorite tips to help ensure you have a great time: Book your shore excursions quickly! If you don't do this ahead of time, make sure to get it done the first day. These excursions fill up quickly

DIY Humminbird Nectar

It's that time of year again. The Hummingbirds should be soon arriving in your neck of the woods if they haven't already. For some of us in the midwest, we have had a few sightings in our area already. I wanted to make sure my feeder was out and ready to go as the season approaches. I am using the same feeder as last year, so I cleaned it up and made sure it was in working order. For the recipe below I made 1 cup of nectar using 1/4 of sugar.  I will make bigger batches as I start getting birds eating my nectar.    Check out the video here to see me make the nectar! Instructions: Mix 1 part sugar with 4 parts water (use filtered or bottled water) and bring to a boil (this to kill any bacteria or mold present) Let the water cool and fill the feeder . Extra sugar water can be stored in a refrigerator for later use (make sure to label so your family doesn't drink it) The red dye should not be added. (this is very harmful to the birds and can make them sick)
