Stir Fry Dinner Recipe | Cheap and Easy | Panda Express Sauce

Image
My Favorite Stir Fry Recipe...its a hit every time! How many of you are just like me and forget to put out meat to thaw before you head out the door for work? I do it all the time. This recipe is great because the meat stays frozen and only has a few simple steps. With only about 20 minutes of prep and cook time, you can make this recipe in a flash. I ngredients: 1 bottle of Panda Express Kung Pao Sauce 10 slices of Steak-Umms steak 1/2 yellow onion (chopped) 5-6 mini colored peppers (chopped small) 1/4 fresh jalapeno (chopped small) 1.5 cups of brown rice 1.5 cups of boiling water fresh cracked black pepper 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes Directions: 1. Cook rice as directed on the box 2. Add steak-umms meat to skillet over medium heat (i add just a bit of coconut oil to the pan) 3. As meat is browning sprinkle with black pepper and red pepper flakes 4. Drain grease 5. Add the chopped peppers, jalapeno, and onions to skillet; stir and saute for about 10

Best Containers for Vegetable Gardening--Choosing the right one!

Image
Smart pots or grow pots make container gardening easy! These offer great flexibility and are better for your plant's roots systems and development over traditional pots.  When choosing a container for growing vegetables you should consider the following: Size: For most vegetables, they need 5 gallons or more, putting one plant in each pot. You can get smaller sizes if you are growing lettuce or herbs. Remember that the more soil in your container the more resilient your plants will be . And bonus you won't have to water as often.  Drainage: Make sure you have proper drainage at the bottom. Nothing is worse than soggy soil, drowning the roots. If your pot doesn't have a hole, use a drill or nail to add one to 3 holes in the bottom. Make sure to add rocks or a coffee filter at the bottom to avoid losing soil when watering. Color: Some argue that lighter colors are better due to less heat retention than darker pots. You don't want your roots getting scorched

Backpacking for Beginners: Gear Checklist and Gear Reviews

Image
With springtime around the corner, many people are probably daydreaming about getting outside and enjoying some nature. Some may be gearing up for a backpacking trip to escape the daily grind or maybe thinking about taking their first one.    Last year my husband and I went on our first overnight backpacking trip. We really enjoyed the escape and had fun putting our "survival skills" to natures test.    As a first-timer, I did a lot of research to see what gear we needed. Since this was our first time, we wanted to see if we enjoyed it before investing in expensive and ultra lightweight gear. The items I found were of good quality and of a fair price. We did enjoy our first trip and may start to invest more ultra lightweight gear this year. (My goal is to go to the Enchanted Valley and do a 13.5 mile out and back for two days) I wanted to share my tips and reviews of some of the items we used on our overnight trip.
