Have you ever thought of trying Fondue? I did and loved it!

Fondue Fun: I recently got into Fondue and had so much fun with it. It is so easy to pull together, once you are prepped you can relax and enjoy the meal with family and friends.

Great Opportunities for Fondue Parties:
  • Dinners for two at home: Perfect for a romantic dinner at home, something different and you can enjoy cooking together.
  • Couples dinner: Invite another couple or two over to enjoy the fondue, great conversations to be had as you get your dip on.
  • Camping: Don't feel like building a fire or getting the grill ready. Plug in your fondue pot! Great for camping since you can cut and prep all items before hand and then just heat up the oil for some family fun.
  • Work Lunch Party: Great for gathering co-workers together for a lunch party. Everyone can bring a dipper and you can enjoy!
Work Party with cheese and white chocolate fondue!

Cheese Dippers: No matter what cheese recipe you choose have fun and get creative with the types of dippers you choose. Here are some ideas to get you thinking!
  • Veggies: Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, etc
  • Bread: Rye, Pretzel bread, Italian, etc
  • Fruit: Red or Green Apples, Celery, etc
  • Simple Meats: Sausage, Kielbasa, Mini Smokies, etc

Meat Dippers: For the meat you can choose to do a broth or oil recipe. Again, whatever you choose is going to be delicious. Make sure you bring some dollar store timers to the table to make sure you fully cook your meats :) After cooking up the meats makes sure you also have plenty of sauces to take the flavor over the top. (Steak sauce, Teriyaki, Ranch, Sweet & Sour, BBQ, Honey Mustard, etc)

  • Steak
  • Chicken
  • Shrimp
  • Pork Tenderloin
  • Meat Balls
  • Potatoes
  • Mushrooms
  • Broccoli

Dessert Dippers: When you think of fondue, dessert always comes to mind. Make sure you save room for in my opinion the best part of the whole experience. With so many options for chocolate recipes, my traditional favorite it white chocolate!

  • Marshmallows
  • Fruit: Strawberries, Pineapple, Apples, grapes, blue berries, bananas, etc
  • Rice Crispy Treats
  • Brownie bites
  • Cheesecake bites
  • Pound Cake
  • Pretzels
  • Oreos

Fondue is extremely flexible with so many combinations it is easy to please everyone! Whether you do all 3 dips in one night (I would recommend having at least 2 fondue pots for this) or if you are doing just a dessert or just a cheese night it is sure to be a hit.

What you need for your fondue party: Besides the delicious food, you need the tools to make this happen. Choosing the right fondue pot is important. Make sure you consider the size and type to maximize the type of use you want to get out of it. You can choose from electric pots or ones that use a candle. In my experience electric works great for managing the temperature for cooking oil and broth and even the cheese. Smaller pots with candles are great for melting chocolates. Plates made especially for fondue are nice, since they have spaces for  the meat condiments. Make sure you have fondue forks for everyone. Tip: so your guest remember their fork color create colorful name plates to match!

I bought this great Cuisinart Pot and it works wonders! It is easy to clean, perfect size for our family, and cooks evenly. Only downside is you need to use an extension cord with it to reach the table. For the dessert fondue I use this handy kit to keep the chocolate melted.
