Bring the outdoors in and brighten any room!

Orchid in my home office. Wow-they add a great pop of color! Ever feel like that bath tub corner is looking plain, the end table could use a pick me up, or that corner is looking dull or drab? I had that same feeling in my home office and wanted to brighten things up this summer! I knew I wanted some kind of greenery, but did not want another plant that I had to take care of. I have enough watering outside to keep me busy all summer. I found this great silk Orchid to put in the my office. Great color, great size, it was the perfect match. Commercial Silk International has been providing silk arrangements since 1986 and they have a huge inventory of items. I spent over an hour looking for just the right item on their website. I must admit it was hard to choose. I debated between an outdoor palm, succulents displays, and the flower I picked. Tropical Backyard Tour | Tiki Decor and Tiki Bar

Summertime Backyard Fun! Most of us live far away from the beach or a tropical paradise, but who is to say we can't bring a little tropics to our own backyard. In this video you will see a tour of my own backyard paradise. Each year, I add a few new items to the space. I always look forward to spring time when I get to bring everything out, sit back, and enjoy. This year we added our gravel patio and fire pit area and I finally put out a bunch of my homemade Tiki bar signs. Tips for creating your own paradise: Lots of colorful flowers! Make sure you get colorful pots and planters as well.  Lighting. This is essential to give it that "warm tropical glow" at night. The lights really give it that resort feel. I recommend warm lighting not the "white" colored bulbs. Spot lights work great, shine them upwards into the plants. A cheaper route would be Tiki torches. DIY Outdoor Decor: Tropical Island Sign

Dreaming of the Islands? Check out the easy steps to making this tropical sign for your backyard landscape. What you will need: Scrap wood Bamboo pole Small screws, drill and saw for cutting Craft paint, and optional top coat finishing spray Steps: Cut strips of wood in varied sizes and shapes. Paint the signs all different colors Add island names, miles, and pictures to customize each sign. (You can google this or make it up) Once all signs are dry, screw them in randomly to the bamboo post Display your sign within your landscape and enjoy!

DIY | Fairy Garden for backyard

Making your own fairy garden is so easy, fun, and relaxing. Gather up some pots, dirt, and purchase some fairy items to make this idea come to life. I have to admit it was fun and relaxing completing this project. There is no right or wrong "design" you can lay things out, change things up, continue to tweak it as you move along. Once finished I was happy with the outcome! Supplies needed: (this can vary per project preferences) Garden Pots, containers, whatever you want to use to hold your materials Dirt Fairy house, fairies, and various fairy "furniture" Rocks, twigs, pine cones, anything from nature that you want to add Plants, flowers, succulents Your imagination!! Nothing is permanent (except the plants) so start adding your bigger items first then layering in your smaller stuff. You can adjust and move things around as you work. Add the plants, rocks, extra details, and enjoy!

I wanted to add color to my dining room, so I made this easy flower arrangement. Wait until Michael's craft store has a sale (or use your coupons) and you can put this together for cheap! Watch the video to see how easy it was to make, and I think the finished product turned out great. It really adds some nice color to my dining room and works great for 3 seasons!
